Cosmo wraparound, Nov 2022

COSMOPOLITAN WRAP AROUND SUITE, GHOST DONKEY, PARK MGM

NOVEMBER 2022

I was at a conference and decided to use my 1 comp night.  Was sad as I'm no longer Platinum at Cosmo but am Marriott Platinum so I was sure to use my Marriott number to add to the room.  I got to check in at the Platinum Lounge area as such. I was upgraded to the wrap around suite!  Too bad I didn't get to use it much as I was pretty busy, but my roomie got to hang out in it a bunch.

Here are some pics from the balcony, Ghost Donkey (speakeasy in back of Cosmo food court), then our view from Park MGM later on in the trip and Best Friend in Park MGM.

How to find Ghost Donkey

Atelier Suite  April 4-7

The tub is key.  Get some bubble bath at Lush though, there isn't any provided.  Argan oil amenities. @ comp bottled small water in room.  I'd stay here again.  Way better than Park MGM basic rooms!

Vdara peace.

VDARA-

So BF stayed in Vegas after his conference and booked a Vdara Penthouse Suite for a night to relax.  It was a good price.  There's no casino in Vdara, but it's right next to Aria, which has the Crystals Shops and the Tram to Bellagio/Park MGM.  Gorgeous room, I've seen them in person on another trip.

two bathrooms

Nice views.

The coolest part is where you can order coffee, and a robot brings it to you.  In short, Vdara is pretty cool and a great place to relax.

Vegas Mirage, October 2019

Stayed at the Mirage on a random whim when bf had a conference Mon-Thurs.  The Mirage is full of middle-class folks... like Spokane on a good day.  Older crowd, slower moving.  Pros: nice restaurants were available on a whim.  Pool fairly empty.  Bf gambled enough they comped our resort fees and food...host much nicer here than MGM Grand!  Gave us normal room for Platinum, but it was a comped room... rooms at Cosmo comp much nicer for me, but hey.  You have to find a host to ask to waive resort fees, as you'll pay here no matter what if not.
Otoro the sushi and grill was great

The pool area was nice and quiet during the week - could move around, have space, no rush.

 Normal looking room.
 MGM standard amenities...

The hot tip here is that when you leave at 4AM on Alaska Airlines with no baggage, it's Terminal 3.  Don't stop at Alaska sign or you will have to walk all the way down to security.  Get let out of your UBER at KLM / JetBlue.  You can thank me later. There's also CLEAR here.

Michael Mina, Bellagio. Great date night.

Had an exquisite signature tasting menu dinner at Michael Mina at Bellagio!  The caviar add-on is a must do.  This was one of the best meals ever- I couldn't even finish the last dish.  Wow.
The amuse bouche - they crack the "egg thing" for you...

Caviar parfait.  Must add on.  Yummmm
Ahi, they mix it up for you, pine nuts nice touch

One of the best fish I've eaten
Amazing Lobster Pot Pie

Waygu and fois gras.  Be sure to save room....
best root beer float thing I've ever had.
 Ohhh Bellagio.

More Vegas and random SFO. Bellagio, Delano, Cosmopolitan, MGM Grand

Bellagio
This time we went to Vegas for bf's conference.  Stayed at Bellagio on a comp, which is perfect as it's next to Cosmopolitan, my favorite.  Check in was perfect on a Tuesday and as a MLife Platinum.  I hear Bellagio check in gets pretty crowded, and by Friday we saw that it definitely was, so that worked.  They first assigned us a crap room but we asked for higher, and she gave us higher with a fountain view.  Food is pricey here, so visit CVS across the street for water, etc.  Bathrooms only had 1 sink but were roomy.  Rooms were a little dated, but sufficient, normal room.  Pool was ok, but most chairs were taken.

Delano
We checked his parents in to the Delano.  Nice rooms as always, real suites. 1 and 1/2 bathroom.  Went to eat at the restaurant on top, Rivea.  Great restaurant, great views.  Always makes lists for "best of" in Vegas.  The bar next door Skyfall is also cool, but they won't reserve tables for you unless you are spending over $50 each, unlike before when you could book a table for after Rivea.

Cosmopolitan
Also went to Cosmo for cheap eats at Pok Pok Wing.

Jaleo best G and T
Jaleo at Cosmo was a good deal for their prix fixe lunch at $30.  Also, their Gin and Tonics claim to be the best, and I think they are, considering I don't like Gin and Tonic.  Beauty and Essex is always a hit for dinner.  China Poblano also good for the prix fixe dinner - more than enough food and pair it with the drinks!

Marriott Marquis, San Francisco
Quick trip to SFO Marriott Marquis.  Room was not ready.  Upgraded me to a "suite" as I was a Gold.  The "suite" was basically an angled room with only 1 bathroom and sink next to the door.  There was a big open area that seemed like a waste of space.  There was a small couch and bed around the corner, but no door, so I'm not sure how it was a suite. Oh well.  Chargers on both sides of bed.  At least it didn't feel suffocating, but by no means would I call it a suite.  Also, no more breakfast for Golds.  Avoid painfully slow and dirty Starbucks at Target next door, go to the "real" one across the street.

MGM Grand, Las Vegas
Also had another "quick trip to Vegas during a week just because we felt like it.  Got upgraded as an MLife Platinum to a King executive suite.  Room was nice but dim.  Desk in middle of room also had TV.  Kuer amenities in bathroom.  2 sinks.  No private door to toilet.  Room big but a lot of empty space. No fridge.  The lazy river was a hit, as was TopGolf!
Also had to hit up Lotus of Siam and Morimoto...
